30A Beach Spotlight: Alys Beach

There are 18 beach towns in the 30A area, each with their own personality and appeal. It would be an injustice to try to cover them all in one post, so we decided to create a beach spotlight series where we can talk in detail about each beach. Today’s beach town is Alys Beach.

You can find Alys Beach sandwiched in between Seacrest and Rosemary Beach, and you may notice it’s distinct New Urbanist style. Alys Beach is delightfully walkable, with amenities all in close proximity and stately white stucco architecture that almost makes you feel as though you’ve been transported to somewhere Mediterranean. You’ll see pedestrians and cyclists all over town, and there are several community greens to enjoy.

And then, of course, there’s the beach itself. Alys Beach is bordered by 30 foot high bluffs, but below those lay 1,500 feet of soft white sand against the famous Emerald coast. Here you can go for a swim, work on your tan, or watch the sun sink into the horizon at night.

Here are a few highlights and activities to enjoy in Alys Beach.

Go Shopping

If you’re looking for trendy fashions for men and women or jewelry, Alys Beach is the right beach town for you. Alys Shoppe is more than just a boutique or tourist shop. It has top notch fashion curated from all over the world, beautiful jewelry pieces, activewear and even some pieces to wear to the beach. You can also find logo t-shirts and gifts to bring home or send to a relative missing the beach.

Eat at Caliza

Caliza Restaurant is the most popular restaurant in Alys Beach, but not just because of the food. The food is delicious, of course, focusing on seasonal artisan menu items. The view of the beach from the restaurant’s outdoor seating is also refreshing. But it’s the 100 foot long pool that draws the most attention. Here you can overlook the beach as you swim or rest on one of the luxurious poolside sunbeds. There’s also a shallow kids’ pool and a spa whirlpool shaded by a cypress glade away from the crowds.

Make Some Memories, Take Some Pictures

Alys Beach is a picturesque beach town — so it’s only right to take pictures. If you’re just here for vacation, you’ll want to capture all the best memories to commemorate and share when you go home. Maybe you’re in Alys Beach for a wedding or honeymoon and want to take pictures to celebrate the occasion by the beach. Maybe you just want something to decorate your new home. If you’re looking for high quality photography in the 30A area, check out Modus Photography. Not only can they provide professional photography that draws the eye no matter where it’s hung, but they have their own art gallery where you can buy prints in unique frames or even coasters. They’re just a short drive away in Grayton Beach.
