Celebrating 4th of July in 30A

Fourth of July is on its way, and 30A is a great place to celebrate. Whether you’ve lived here for years, just moved, or you’re visiting family, you’ll be thrilled by the number of activities and traditions in 30A for this big, patriotic holiday. Do you know what your plans are for the fourth this year? If not, here are some of our favorite suggestions.

Hit the Beach

Almost any day is a good day to hit the beach in 30A, and what better way to celebrate the fourth than with sun, sand, and exhilaratingly cool water? But many of the beaches in 30A also have activities going on throughout Fourth of July to turn the holiday into a party.

Grayton Beach, for instance, is a perfect location to see or take part in the Fourth of July parade. You can also view the America-themed floats on the beach. Rosemary Beach has a full day of activities, from a bike parade, games, and finally fireworks over the beach at night. Alys Beach also hosts fireworks after a full evening of live music. Pier Park, too, ends their day with a spectacular firework show overlooking the water.

Check Out the Scenic Highway Parade

The big Fourth of July parade in 30A takes place in Seaside, traveling along Scenic Highway 30A from 8am onward. A true community parade, you can join in simply by decorating your bikes, cars, boats, and scooters in a patriotic fashion and following along. It begins in Seagrove Plaza and heads west throughout the morning. You can participate, or watch with your friends and family — not to mention your pets. Dogs love to see the big Fourth of July parade and they’ll be in good company there.

Enjoy Some BBQ

What is Fourth of July without barbecue, after all? At Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort, there’s an annual Fourth of July BBQ at the Baytowne Marina. It runs from 6-9pm with fun activities for everyone. Beyond just delicious barbecue, there’s live entertainment, face painting, and a bounce house for the kids. And don’t worry, if barbecue isn’t your style, there’s a variety of food, from salads to burgers to baked potatoes, so you’re sure to find something to your liking. That extends to beverages. There are alcoholic beverages for those 21 and over, tea, water, and soft drinks. The night ends at 9:15pm by checking out the firework display over Choctawhatchee Bay.

Take a Walk on the Harbor

Another popular Fourth of July celebration happens on the Destin Harborwalk for a few days leading up to the Fourth of July. Here you can enjoy sales at local shops, dine at local restaurants, and check out the free concerts surrounding Fourth of July. Entertainment runs from 7-9pm and ends, of course, with fireworks.

We love celebrating Fourth of July in 30A. No matter where in the area you are, or for how long, you’re bound to find lively, welcoming festivities to enjoy.
